About the Project The Article 6 Capacity Building project forms part of the global NDC Assist II programme, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). In close partnership with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) and the Department of Electricity and Energy (DEE), this initiative aims to strengthen South Africa’s readiness to participate in carbon market mechanisms under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research and preparing information on international climate policy, with a focus on Article 6 mechanisms
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of workshops, training, and capacity building initiatives
  • Assisting with project management tasks, such as minute-taking and meeting coordination
  • Creating presentations and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • A recently completed Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in environmental, political, social, or economic sciences, or a related field
