The In-Service Trainee: Engineering program offers an exciting opportunity for young South African students to gain practical workplace experience while completing their qualifications. This 12-month contract, registered with the FoodBev SETA, is designed to provide hands-on exposure to engineering practices within a dynamic environment. Trainees will be supported in applying theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, contributing to projects that enhance operational efficiency and innovation. The program emphasizes growth, learning, and professional development, preparing participants for future careers in engineering and related fields

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering teams with daily operational tasks and projects
• Apply theoretical knowledge to practical engineering problems
• Support maintenance and improvement of systems, processes, and equipment
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety and quality standards
• Document and report on work activities as required by supervisors
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project and departmental goals

Qualifications

• South African citizen aged between 18 and 35
• Grade 12 with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy passed at a minimum of 40%
• Proficiency in English and at least one other South African language at 40%
• Currently studying towards a relevant engineering qualification
• Unemployed and not previously completed the same qualification or learnership at another company
• Candidates who meet Employment Equity guidelines are preferred
