Description

The Finance Intern will assist the Finance Department with the implementation of a system-based fixed asset management solution. This learnership is project-focused and aims to improve IAS 16 compliance, strengthen asset governance, and support the transition from Excel-based records to a centralised digital asset management platform. The role also includes physical asset verification across AssureCloud branches nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Support the selection, setup, and rollout of a fixed asset management system
• Cleanse, validate, and migrate the existing Excel-based asset register into the new system
• Conduct physical verification, tagging, and inspection of assets across South African branches
• Capture and maintain accurate asset information (location, custodian, condition, etc
• )
• Assist with asset governance, housekeeping, and basic internal control processes
• Support monthly and ad-hoc asset reporting

Qualifications

• Completed Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Accounting or Financial Management
• Strong Excel skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Understanding of basic accounting principles
• Ability to work systematically with large datasets
• Valid driver’s licence
• Willingness to travel nationally
