Sun Sibaya is offering a Gaming Operations Learnership aimed at unemployed individuals interested in developing skills within the gaming and hospitality industry. The programme forms part of the organisation’s commitment to South Africa’s skills development initiatives and provides practical workplace exposure combined with an accredited qualification. Successful candidates will complete a 12-month learnership programme and receive an NQF Level 4 qualification in Gaming Operations. Participants must be willing to work in both smoking and non-smoking environments as required by operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the work area and equipment are prepared and functioning before service
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned station or section
• Report and follow up on equipment faults or issues
• Provide excellent guest service and professional interactions
• Clear slot machines during count days
• Perform daily counts and financial reconciliations
• Capture operational data into the system
• Report suspicious transactions or activities
• Maintain proper documentation and filing

Qualifications

• Matric certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
• Valid South African ID
• English passed at school level
• Ability to work shifts and in smoking environments
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Professional appearance and presentation
• Self-motivated with high levels of initiative
• Physically able to stand for long periods and move equipment

• Appointment is subject to approval by the KwaZulu-Natal Gaming Board. This is a learnership programme and does not guarantee permanent employment after completion. Preference will be given to designated groups in line with the Employment Equity Act.
