Babcock is offering an Earthmoving Mechanic Apprenticeship Programme aimed at developing skilled artisans in the equipment and technical operations field. The programme focuses on training and developing learners through both practical workshop experience and theoretical learning to ensure a strong pipeline of qualified technical workers for the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist artisans with equipment repairs and servicing
  • Support workshop activities and field breakdown maintenance
  • Contribute to maintaining a strong safety culture
  • Follow instructions from team leaders and technical supervisors
  • Travel to various sites across South Africa when required

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Science above 50%
  • N2 Certificate from a TVET/FET College including
  • Mathematics
  • Diesel Trade Theory
  • Engineering Drawings
  • Engineering Science

Application instructions:

  • Experience in a vehicle maintenance or mechanical environment is advantageous. Willingness to learn and complete both theoretical and practical training. Ability to travel to different sites across South Africa.
