The role involves planning and executing testing activities for the team to ensure successful project delivery. This includes establishing a functional testing approach for feature and regression testing, monitoring scope and requirements changes, providing accurate estimates, driving automation, and reporting on test progress. The individual is responsible for executing the defect management process and reporting, driving integration, system, and regression testing plans, and defining and implementing testing automation strategies. They can design test plans for existing and new functionality, implement complex test cases, participate in agile estimation, identify quality patterns, and use automated test scripts for regression and functional tests.
The individual is recognized as an expert in product functionality and coordinates their own work with others. They demonstrate mastery of problem-solving skills, strong ownership and accountability for deliverables, and actively work with team members to resolve issues and meet project goals. They work closely with the QA Analyst team and automate processes as needed.
The role also involves managing and mentoring a great QA Automation team, providing real-time coaching and feedback, completing performance management activities on time, supporting employee development, hiring and retaining high-performers, managing change initiatives, and role modeling behaviors that support and drive the Flash culture and values.
