Description

The Gauteng Office of the Premier is committed to youth and skills development in South Africa. This 24-month internship programme provides recent graduates with meaningful workplace experience in data analysis within the Service Delivery Interventions directorate. Interns will work in a supportive environment that allows for continuous development, gaining practical exposure to data-driven decision-making, performance monitoring, and service delivery improvement initiatives within provincial government. The programme is directed at graduates who have completed their undergraduate or postgraduate studies by the end of the 2025 academic year and who have not previously participated in a government internship programme.

Responsibilities

• Data Collection & Compilation.
• Assist in collecting quantitative and qualitative data from various provincial departments and service delivery points.
• Help compile data into structured formats (spreadsheets, databases) for analysis.
• Support the verification and validation of data for accuracy and completeness.
• Data Cleaning & Preparation.
• Assist in identifying and correcting data errors, inconsistencies, or missing values.
• Help prepare datasets for analysis by formatting, sorting, and filtering.
• Support the documentation of data cleaning processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

• An NQF Level 6?7/8 in Information Technology/ Data Science/ Statistics/ Business Intelligence/ Applied Mathematics/ Computer/ Engineering/ Econometrics/ Quantative Analysis. Applicant must be: South African citizen. Gauteng Province Residence.
• Unemployed graduates who have NOT participated in an internship programme in government.
