Programming Lecturers at HyperionDev are passionate about combining technical coding skills with teaching and mentorship abilities. They aim to help the world write better code, introduce new learners to the power of programming, and improve the quality of coding education. As per the 2018 graduate report, 95% of graduates can reach their career outcomes in the tech sector within 5 months of graduating. Coding is one of the hardest skills to master, and you will be part of building and growing the first on-site HyperionDev Coding Campus to equalize the tech skills gap in South Africa. Patience, strong verbal and written communication skills, and technical knowledge are essential prerequisites for this role. You must have a proven track record in helping students learn how to code, whether as a peer mentor, school teacher, university lecturer, or online tutor. In addition to teaching students code at the physical campus, you will work with leading coding education providers worldwide to provide expert code review to international students and tech teams. Our coding educators progress along a structured growth pathway and receive continuous professional development opportunities to specialize in specific software development tracks over time. They also work with elite partners on the newest technology stacks to ensure they can learn from and work alongside the best in global tech. Responsibilities include delivering HyperionDev course content, supporting senior lecturers and learning design, identifying and implementing new strategies for improving pedagogy and quality of lectures, reviewing and updating course content and teaching methods, supporting curriculum planning, and participating in the planning and execution of lecturing schedules under the guidance of senior lecturers and management.
