Vitality Global, a subsidiary of Discovery Limited, is responsible for expanding the Vitality Shared-Value Insurance business model beyond South Africa and the UK. The company forms equity or contractual partnerships with leading global insurers to integrate Vitality and shared value with partners' insurance and financial services products in their markets. Vitality Global also operates a wellness solutions business in the United States and is responsible for Discovery's 25 percent equity investment in Ping An Health Insurance, the largest comprehensive medical insurer in China.
The key purpose of Vitality Global is to own and orchestrate the flow of "data products" within the organization, including data sets generated by Vitality, additional datasets that flow into or out of the organization, and derived outputs such as analytics and reports. This role ensures that these data products are successfully produced, transferred, maintained, and evolved over their lifetime.
Areas of responsibility include data gathering, data provisioning for markets, developing new data products, VG data strategy, and interpreting internal data and allocation of responsibilities. Data gathering involves gathering data from various sources, while data provisioning involves working with Partner Markets to ensure preparedness for ingestion of data extracts and addressing issues related to data quality.
Interpreting internal data and allocating responsibilities involves designing, commissioning, and interpreting BI reports requirements that reflect the performance of the organization with respect to software development, deployment of software assets, software quality, and problem resolution. In response to these reports, work with internal stakeholders to track responses to any issues and other aspects that require follow-up.
