The Department of Public Service (DPS) is seeking applications for a Senior Management Services (SMS) position. The salary for this position is R1,003,890 per annum, all-inclusive. The center of the job is the Provincial Office in Braamfontein. The requirements include a three-year relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Health/Analytical Chemistry, Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical/ Civil and Construction Engineering, two years' management experience, and three years' functional experience in Health and Safety inspection/ services. A valid driver's license is required. The roles involve managing the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety inspection and advocacy strategy, policy and procedure, developing and monitoring policy and work plan to ensure peaceful and harmonious employer-employee relationships, managing and conducting advocacy and educational programs directed towards internal and external stakeholders, and managing all resources of the Sub-directorate such as Human Resources, Financial Resources, and Assets. The Sub-directorate: Deputy Director: Human Resources Management is responsible for handling all the resources of the Sub-directorate. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a technical competency exercise that tests relevant technical elements of the job. The selection panel will recommend candidates to attend generic managerial competencies using the mandated DPSA SMS competency assessment tools.
