This text outlines the responsibilities of a Business Analyst (BA) in enabling change by defining needs, rationales, current and future state, and activities required to move from current to future state. The BA must work independently and identify appropriate actions to address business challenges. They must collaborate with Product Designers, Business Architects, Testers, and Business Data Managers to complete complex tasks or larger challenges. The BA's job responsibilities include iterative planning and monitoring, elicitation and collaboration tasks, requirements analysis and design definition, Requirements Life Cycle Management, strategy analysis, and solution evaluation. They must execute according to IIBA best practices, agile product delivery, and lean principles based on Nedbank's delivery approach. The BA must understand the portfolio's strategic themes, product roadmap, vision, KPIs, and metrics, align requirements accordingly, and understand all elements of the program and team backlog. They must explore and articulate opportunities and stakeholder wants and needs, use visual diagrams and collaborative games to model scope, interfaces, story context, data flows, processes, retrospectives, and dependencies across projects. The BA must also collaborate/co-create process and capability alignment, support the team in working on impediments and spikes, work with development/QA to identify test cases/scenarios, conduct user acceptance testing, and support change management commercialization. They must participate in Backlog Refinement, prioritization, WSJF, and increment planning, analyze data requirements, foster stakeholder relationships, conduct system demos, actively participate and lead program ceremonies, drive minimum viable thinking, continuous deployment, and integration, and ensure early remediation by reducing waste, reworking, and identifying risks and issues.
