The General Assistant role involves providing comprehensive customer service in a store, including loading and merchandising stock, shelf price labelling, and housekeeping. The job requires a minimum of one year of experience, fluency in English, accurate basic calculations, willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays, and the ability to work under pressure. The job involves recognizing customers, advising them on products, assisting with product queries, and handling complaints promptly. Additional services provided include delivery services, bulk deposits, glass cutting, plan reading, credit programs, special orders, trusses, and distant ordering. The General Assistant must be certified in Product Knowledge and available in the aisle of responsibility. They must ensure safety (OHSA) compliance, ensuring safe racking and bulk stock merchandised, and reporting discrepancies to the Store Manager. They must adhere to Ready for Business and Beyond my Control as per the CB Way.
