The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is a South African organization that focuses on accelerating socio-economic prosperity through technology development. Current university students enrolled full-time for their chosen degree at a South African public university are eligible to apply. Required documents include a certified copy of the applicant's RSA ID, matric certificate, CV, end-of-year Official Final Academic results, latest official academic transcripts, a gap-year after matric or during undergrad, a recommendation letter by the supervisor for master's and doctoral applicants, and optional documents such as bursary agreement/letter/offer, 2024 latest official academic results, proof of registration, Dept. of Labour Employment Equity Act (EEA1) Form and doctor's letter, and a copy of the 2025 acceptance letter from an accredited institution.
