Vodacom is seeking an AI/ML Big Data Lead to join their South African team. The role involves combining ML/AI knowledge with programming and software engineering skills to use the Group's unified datalake, AI, and ML technology stack for AI/ML models and data analytics. The ideal candidate should have technical/professional qualifications, relevant cloud certification, 8+ years of data, AI, and analytics experience, and experience with GenAI applications. Core competencies include managing the development life cycle for agile software development projects, robust software engineering, DevOps engineering, and AI/ML engineering skills. Experience in using data tools like AWS services, big data frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Yarn, Airflow, distributed ML frameworks like H2O and/or TensorFlow, and various ML libraries, with a focus on AWS Sagemaker. Programming experience in Java, Python, and containerization services like Docker/Kubernetes or cloud alternatives is essential. Experience with AWS big data lakehouse architecture & analytics is essential, and working knowledge of GCP is desirable. Strong written and verbal communications and excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills are required.
