Description

The City of Johannesburg is seeking a Driver/Messenger to provide transportation services for the Office of the Mayor. Responsibilities include transporting documentation, materials, equipment, and personnel, as well as assisting with ad-hoc office administration tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the Johannesburg area and be able to work under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• The primary function of this role is to transport documents, materials, equipment, and personnel to and from the Mayoral Office for internal and external stakeholders
• Key performance areas include document transportation, completing internal transactional documentation, and providing ad hoc administrative support
• Leading competencies include good communication, confidentiality, teamwork, and time-keeping
• The City of Johannesburg applies employment equity principles, with preference given to previously disadvantaged groups, including those with disabilities
• Appointments will be made in accordance with the approved Employment Equity Plan

Qualifications

• Grade 12/NQF level 4; 1-2 years of driving experience; Valid Code 8 driver’s license
