As a Principal Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in leading data acquisition and processing across Nintex, working to design, implement, and mentor within your team while contributing to the larger data engineering community. This position requires a proactive approach to data engineering with a focus on building end-to-end data pipelines, optimizing data storage, and enabling efficient big data querying to drive valuable business insights.

Responsibilities

• Ensure data history meets data science modeling needs
• Identify Intellectual Property (IP) opportunities and contribute to the Nintex Patent process
• Coordinate data inputs from multiple sources to create comprehensive reporting artifacts
• Maintain instrumentation to monitor data ingestion systems’ stability and availability
• Leverage Azure event hubs and functions for data operations
• Implement optimal data pipeline architectures (data warehouse, data lake, data lakehouse)
• Optimize ETL processes for handling large data sets efficiently
• Adapt partitioning and data organization for optimized big data querying
• Implement data storage and security protocols aligned with Nintex’s data policies
• Participate actively in incident management, including on-call rotation
• Document data stream boundaries, types, and definitions to support data transformation for end users

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering
• Hands-on experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS)
• Proficiency with Azure, DataBricks, Unity Catalog
• Familiarity with Hadoop/Spark, Kafka, and Azure OpenAI
• Experience in Scala and Python is advantageous
• Experience with real-time data streaming and distributed computing is a plus
