The Anglo American Mining Learnership 2025 offers a unique opportunity for individuals to gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience in the mining industry. This 18-month structured program is designed to build a strong foundation in mining operations, providing learners with a blend of classroom training and supervised, real-world work experience. Participants will gain valuable insights and technical skills while working towards earning an MQA Certificate, which enhances employability in the mining sector. Additional benefits include a monthly stipend or allowance, free training, personal protective equipment (PPE), and experiential learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to health and safety regulations during training and practical assignments
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency
• Participate in SLAMs, HPHs, and risk assessments
• Attend and complete theoretical and practical training sessions as part of the program
• Gain hands-on experience in plant or mining operations, including machinery operation and maintenance
• Monitor equipment, record operational data, and troubleshoot minor issues
• Develop technical expertise in mining processes and production optimization
• Collaborate with teams to achieve training and production goals
• Complete assessments to demonstrate competency
• Keep accurate records of training progress and manage learning materials
• Positively represent Anglo American, particularly in interactions with local communities

Qualifications

• Grade 12/N3 Technical qualification or equivalent (with Mathematics Literacy or Mathematics; Physical Science advantageous)
• South African citizenship with a valid ID document
• South African driver’s license
• Proof of residential address
• Ability to understand instructions, read documents, and perform basic calculations
• Introductory knowledge of workplace safety and the use of PPE
• Basic understanding of mining operations and minimizing environmental impact
