The learnership program aims to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical environment and dispensing practices, emphasizing quality on-the-job learning. Participants will be responsible for selling Schedule 1 medicines, assisting with call center scripts, and providing health promotion information. They will support scheme authorization for chronic, HIV and AIDS, and oncology medications, report stock levels, and handle stock per company procedures. Additional tasks include unpacking, merchandising, and cleaning dispensary and OTC shelves, ensuring accurate picking, packing, labeling, and checking of medications, and following up with patients on script tracking reports and appointments. To qualify, applicants must have a Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics (Higher Grade) and either Physical Science or Life Science, achieving a minimum average of 50%. This program requires attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to follow procedures and manage inventory efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Preparing prescriptions according to regulatory guidelines

• • Providing information about prescription collection and usage
• • Maintaining professional and empathetic customer service
• • Handling payments, updating pharmacy systems, and ensuring legal and ethical pharmacy practices

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric Certificate with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
• Life Sciences or Physical Sciences is often advantageous
