Description

This programme is aimed at affording youth an employment opportunity to gain work experience through the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). The position is a one-year fixed-term contract, renewable based on performance and budget availability.

Responsibilities

• Support the initiation and planning of Youth Empowerment and Development Projects
• Evaluate project monthly reports and evidence (PPR)
• Evaluate and submit invoices with supporting documents for approval
• Support the implementation of training and youth empowerment and development projects
• Evaluate training completion reports for approval
• Upload training project information and evidence (ID, contracts, timesheets) on the system
• Ensure compliance of training projects during planning, implementation, and close-out
• Conduct site visits and submit reports
• Provide general administrative support and ensure project document filing
• Compile spreadsheets and capture project data
• Support evaluation of project completion reports

Qualifications

• A recognized three-year Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma or equivalent qualification in a related field (Training)
• Preference will be given to candidates with 0–2 years of experience in a relevant field
• Basic knowledge and understanding of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and reporting protocols
• Basic understanding of EPWP’s relationship with national, provincial, and municipal government
• Basic organizational, planning, and coordination skills
• Basic stakeholder management, facilitation, and government planning process knowledge
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work long hours, handle pressure, and travel when required
