They should use initiative and creativity to solve issues and hold a formal IT qualification (minimum DP-900) or a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Sciences, or a related field. Essential knowledge includes Microsoft Azure SQL, Fabric (inclusive of Data Factory and Power BI) support, and strong proficiency in database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL. Experience in creating database schemas for warehousing datasets and writing complex SQL queries to optimize database performance is required. Additionally, the candidate should be able to develop and implement data security policies, identify and resolve database performance issues, conduct database capacity planning, and implement and maintain database monitoring tools. Comprehensive documentation of database systems, including schema, configurations, and standard operating procedures, along with knowledge of data migration processes and the ability to interpret SQL data, are also important for this role.
