Description

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering internship opportunities to suitably qualified and unemployed graduates. The internships will run for a period not exceeding eighteen (18) months. Interns will be required to sign an internship agreement, in addition to an employment contract, committing themselves to full participation in the educational and workplace assignments in accordance with laid-down policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Capitalisation of movable assets in all seven (7) regions within the City of Johannesburg
  • Monitor Assets under Construction (AUC) / Work in Progress (WIP) in all seven regions
  • Physical verification of movable and immovable assets in the fixed assets register for completeness, reporting, and audit purposes
  • Assets accounting and monitoring
  • Provide administrative support related to the unit and maintain record-keeping in compliance with requirements
  • General office administration work, including word data entry, filing, and organising
  • Payments of accounts payable
  • Raise accruals on the SAP system
  • Acquisition of movable assets
  • Process insurance claims for reported damages or destroyed assets due to fire, theft, or natural disaster

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in: Accounting Sciences, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting Financial Management Accounting, Or related tertiary qualification
