As a Technical IT Specialist, the primary responsibility involves the installation, maintenance, configuration, support, and continuous service improvements of the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) within Sasol's environment, serving both the Sasolburg and Secunda locations. Key deliverables include the upkeep and support of MES systems such as Aspentech, OSIsoft (Aveva), and Wonderware. This role encompasses executing projects efficiently, mentoring junior staff members, and providing comprehensive user support. Adequate documentation is also crucial to ensure system reliability and continuity.
To perform these duties effectively, an in-depth knowledge of OSIsoft (Aveva) PI & AF, Aspentech Manufacturing Suite, and optionally, the Wonderware suite of products is essential. Additionally, a solid understanding of network principles and troubleshooting, coupled with robust SQL Server skills, is required.
