As a SHE Officer Graduate, you will support the SHE team by ensuring safe, healthy, and compliant working environments through inspections, audits, and safety initiatives across Dis-Chem stores, warehouses, and head office operations

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and maintaining the SHE Management System
• Support legal compliance audits, inspections, and risk assessments aligned with ISO standards
• Maintain the legal register for SHE legislation; ensure legal appointments (Sec
• 16
• 2, 8, 17) are updated
• Participate in incident/accident investigations; assist with root cause analysis and reporting
• Conduct and communicate risk assessments (baseline, issue-based, continuous)
• Help develop and monitor corrective/preventive action plans
• Support emergency preparedness drills and ensure availability of emergency equipment
• Promote safety awareness via toolbox talks, campaigns, and staff training sessions
• Maintain SHE documentation: safety files, meeting minutes, training registers, contractor compliance

Qualifications

• Matric / Senior Certificate
• National Diploma in Safety Management
