Ozow, a leading fintech company in South Africa, is looking for a Junior Fraud Analyst to strengthen its fraud risk management team. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about digital payments, financial crime prevention, and using data analytics to fight fraud. You will play a vital role in investigating suspicious activity, identifying fraud patterns, and helping reduce fraud losses while ensuring great customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve fraud queries at first point of contact
• Analyse fraud patterns, identify root causes, and reduce fraud losses
• Support fraud operations by capturing, verifying, and maintaining management information
• Use data-driven insights to assist in developing counter-fraud strategies
• Collaborate with internal teams and maintain excellent customer service

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in fraud detection/prevention or related environment
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in banking/financial sector and/or technology sector (with payments focus)
• Strong knowledge of counter fraud, anti-money laundering (AML), and risk management frameworks
• Familiarity with fraud prevention software tools and methodologies
• Ability to work shifts, including after-hours and weekends
• Excellent communication, business writing, and presentation skills
• Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
• Numerate with strong analytical skills and knowledge of BI software packages
