Description

The Internal Audit Internship is an excellent opportunity for a graduate interested in developing a career in auditing, governance, or risk management. The intern will be part of the internal audit function, gaining exposure to auditing standards, internal controls, risk analysis, corporate governance, and IT audit practices in a public sector environment

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the planning and execution of internal audits across municipal departments
  • Supporting risk assessments and identifying potential control weaknesses
  • Contributing to audit reports and helping track corrective action plans
  • Participating in the monitoring of governance practices, ethics, and disclosure standards
  • Engaging in IT auditing and reviewing information systems where applicable
  • Assisting with compliance to public sector legislation, including MFMA and Treasury Regulations
  • Supporting the promotion of a culture of accountability and transparency

Qualifications

  • A 3 - year Bachelors' Degree/ National Diploma (BCom/BTech) in Cost and Management Accounting / Financial Accounting / Forensic Auditing or Auditing / Risk Management / Information Systems or Information Technology (BSc IT)
  • Higher Diploma or Postgraduate Diploma or Honours will be an added advantage
