Description

The Camera Operator Intern will support the Publication and Broadcast Communication section at SAPS Head Office, Pretoria. The intern will operate video cameras and related equipment to produce, record, and package video content for SAPS events, special projects, and broadcasts. This role involves creative filming, planning visual presentations, and ensuring high-quality production standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate video cameras and related equipment for broadcast purposes
• Maintain and manage camera equipment and perform production administrative duties
• Record video and audio material for SAPS events, special projects, and inserts
• Plan and develop visual presentations for recorded content
• Creatively film SAPS events and record audio material for editing and broadcast
• Film live events using SAPS live broadcast equipment
• Ensure steady and controlled camera movements according to broadcast standards
• Set up cameras and other broadcast equipment in a timely manner
• Demonstrate a keen eye for detail, storytelling, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• South African citizen
• National Senior Certificate (NSC) or NCV Level 4
• No previous criminal convictions or pending cases
• Unemployed and never participated in an internship in the same field
• Resident of the province where the post is advertised
• Tertiary qualification: Diploma or Degree in Video Production, Film Production, Multimedia Production, Communication, Media, Screen Arts, or related field (NQF Level 6 or higher) recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD)
