The South African Police Service (SAPS) is offering a twelve (12) month Graduate Recruitment Scheme Internship opportunity within the Office of the National Commissioner: Corporate Support. The internship is designed to provide unemployed graduates with practical workplace experience in the area of Strategy Development, contributing to the strategic direction and planning processes of the SAPS.

Responsibilities

• Compiling of strategies and high-level plans
• Conducting research on relevant strategic topics
• Arranging and supporting work sessions and strategic planning meetings
• Preparing, maintaining, and updating the electronic strategy database
• Preparing, maintaining, and updating the portfolio of evidence
• Analysing and interpreting government policies, prescripts, and legislation that impact the SAPS’s strategic direction
• Administrative tasks related to the facilitation and development of business-level strategies
• Supporting the coordination of business units in problem identification and applying problem-solving methodologies and techniques

Qualifications

• South African citizen with a National Senior Certificate (or equivalent NCV L4)
• Must have no previous criminal convictions or pending cases
• Must be unemployed, never employed in the field of the advertised post, and never participated in an internship programme relevant to the field
• Must reside in the province where the post is advertised
• Must be in possession of an applicable three (3) year National Diploma/Degree in: Strategic Management, OR Business Management (with Research as a subject/module), OR Policing (with Strategic Management as a module)
• Qualification must be recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) at NQF level 6 or higher
