Description

The Western Cape Government is inviting unemployed South African graduates to apply for the Graduate Internship Programme for 2025/2026. The program offers practical work experience for 3-24 months, with key performance areas including agriculture, police oversight, cultural affairs, economic development, tourism, environmental affairs, infrastructure, local government, mobility, provincial treasury, and social development. The program aims to make applicants more marketable, provide contactable references, and provide career awareness exposure. Applicants must have good communication skills, computer literacy, and planning and organizing skills. The application process consists of two phases: registration and application. Technical support is available Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Participate in on-the-job training within one of the provincial departments
• Gain practical workplace exposure by supporting departmental projects and daily operations
• Assist with administrative tasks, including document handling, office equipment use, and computer-based work (MS Office)
• Contribute to planning, organising, and coordination of departmental activities
• Apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations, developing professional and technical skills

Qualifications

• Diploma, Degree, Post Graduate Qualification in relevant field
