Description

The electrician apprenticeship program aims to prepare an apprentice to operate independently and productively as a competent qualified artist. The apprentice will learn to plan, prepare, install, manufacture, connect, assemble, test, inspect, commission, maintain, modify, and repair electrical equipment. The program requires qualifications in electrical trade theory, industrial electronics, engineering science, mathematics, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified Electricians with the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
  • Plan and prepare the worksite, tools, equipment, consumables, and materials needed for daily operations
  • Learn to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments safely and effectively
  • Support the installation and assembly of electrical wiring, control systems, circuits, and components

Qualifications

  • N2 qualification with Electrical Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics
  • N3-6 qualification with Mathematics , Engineering Science, Fitting & Machining
  • Technical grade 12 with Life Orientation, Mathematics (Pure), Engineering and graphic design, Home language, First additional language, Physical Science , Fitting and Machining
