Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RF) (Pty) Ltd is offering a full-time internship opportunity for a Project Management Intern at their Somerset West facility in Cape Town. This role is designed for individuals with a strong technical background and an interest in applying project management principles within a high-performance engineering and manufacturing environment. The intern will support various aspects of project coordination, documentation, compliance, and reporting, contributing to short-term improvement initiatives and ensuring alignment with company standards and ISO compliance. The position provides hands-on experience in managing scope, time, and cost across multiple internal projects, while reporting directly to the Product Development Projects Manager.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist in maintaining project registers including actions, risks, lessons learned and decisions
• Schedule and coordinate meetings, take minutes and assist in tracking of closure of action items
• Prepare and update project portfolio documentation, reports and presentations
• Monitor and assist in maintaining the project portfolio database
• Assist with compliance tracking and flagging or addressing gaps in project documentation
• Support project data processing, reporting and monthly budget tracking
• Coordinate short internal sprints and improvement activities
• Plan short-term projects such as process improvements, reporting enhancements or other internal support tasks

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Industrial or Systems Engineering at NQF 6 or equivalent technical qualification
• NQF 6 qualification in Project Management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Familiarity with MS Project is advantageous
• Strong organisational, planning and communication skills
• Analytical mindset with ability to manage and process data accurately
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and show initiative
• High integrity, professionalism and adherence to office protocol
• Valid driver’s license is advantageous
