Description

The Protection & Security Intern at Government Printing Works (GPW) will assist the security team in ensuring the safety and protection of personnel, assets, and information within the organization. The role involves monitoring facilities, controlling access, conducting risk assessments, and supporting security protocols. Interns gain practical experience in security operations, risk management, and protection strategies within a government environment, while developing professional skills under structured mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining security at GPW facilities
• Support access control procedures for staff, visitors, and contractors
• Conduct risk assessments and help implement safety and security protocols
• Report and document security incidents or breaches accurately
• Collaborate with the security team on projects and operational improvements
• Gain hands-on experience in protection and security operations within a government environment

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Security Management, Protection Services, Law Enforcement, or a related field
• Knowledge of security principles, risk assessment, and access control systems
• Strong attention to detail, vigilance, and integrity
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Suitable for recent graduates or final-year students
