The Security Systems Intern will assist in the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of physical and electronic security systems across the organisation. This role provides practical exposure to CCTV, access control systems, alarm systems, and network-based surveillance solutions. The intern will work under the supervision of experienced technicians and security managers to ensure the organisation’s premises and assets are protected in line with safety and security standards

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and testing of electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms, and biometrics)
• Support in conducting routine system maintenance and troubleshooting technical faults
• Help monitor system alerts and respond to incidents in accordance with established procedures
• Participate in system upgrades and integration with IT infrastructure
• Maintain accurate records of system performance, maintenance schedules, and incident logs
• Support security audits, inspections, and compliance assessments
• Liaise with internal departments and external service providers for maintenance and repairs
• Provide user support and training on basic system operation and access procedures
• Observe and comply with occupational health and safety (OHS) and data protection policies

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Security Management, or a related field
