Description

The Intern: Group Insurance Pricing role at Momentum Corporate offers a dynamic opportunity for a graduate to gain hands-on experience in pricing and managing retirement and risk benefits for both new and existing business. Based in Centurion, Gauteng, this temporary internship is part of the Actuarial role family and involves working in a high-pressure environment where attention to detail, analytical thinking, and collaboration are key. The intern will support the Group Insurance Pricing team by conducting data analysis, preparing quotations, and contributing to risk management strategies, all while building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sustainable and profitable pricing outcomes.

Responsibilities

Screen and analyse new and existing business pricing requests
Gather and assess information to prepare new business tenders and review existing premium rates
Calculate retirement-related fees, risk rates and underwriting requirements using pricing tools
Determine appropriate terms and conditions to manage risk effectively
Prepare high-quality quotation and rate review documents for clients
Extract, validate and manipulate data from internal systems for reporting and analysis
Record data accurately for business intelligence purposes
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on pricing and risk matters
Support the development and improvement of pricing models and internal processes

Qualifications

Minimum Matric with exemption including Pure Mathematics and Accounting or Physical Science
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Mathematics or Statistics is preferable
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-pressure environment
Demonstrated attention to detail, integrity and accountability
Effective time management, adaptability and planning capabilities
