The Discovery Learnership in Long Term Insurance is an opportunity for young individuals living with disabilities to gain valuable work experience and a recognised qualification in the financial services industry. The programme combines classroom-based learning with on-the-job training, providing exposure to Discovery Health’s operations, including client servicing, claims processing, and benefits administration. Participants will develop essential professional, technical, and interpersonal skills while earning the FETC: Long Term Insurance NQF Level 4 qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service support within the Call Centre environment
• Assist clients with medical aid queries, claims, and new business applications
• Handle health benefits administration accurately and efficiently
• Maintain client records and ensure information is captured correctly on company systems
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients via phone and email
• Follow company policies, procedures, and service standards at all times
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure excellent client service delivery

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) with required subjects: Maths (Level 4 / 50%), English (Level 4 / 50%), Maths Literacy (Level 5 / 60%), and a 2nd Language (Level 4 / 50%)
• May have an incomplete tertiary qualification (advantageous)
• Must not be enrolled in post-matric studies or formal employment
• Must not have completed any previous learnership
• Age: Between 18 and 25 years old
• Basic computer skills in MS Excel and MS Outlook, with good English communication skills
