Cambridge University Press & Assessment is offering a dynamic 6-month full-time internship for an AI Intern based in Pretoria or Cape Town, South Africa, with a hybrid working arrangement. This role is ideal for a curious and self-driven individual passionate about AI applications in education and business. The intern will collaborate across content creation, marketing, business development, and operations to implement AI-powered workflows that enhance educational content production and streamline internal processes. The position supports Employment Equity and BBBEE principles, with preference potentially given to candidates from designated groups. Interns will gain hands-on experience in educational publishing innovation while contributing to a mission-driven organization committed to learning, diversity, and global impact.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI-powered content generation tools for educational materials, assessments and curriculum resources
• Build automation workflows for content review, quality assurance and publishing processes
• Create marketing automation tools for educational content promotion and audience engagement
• Support business development with AI-driven market research, competitor analysis and lead qualification
• Optimize operational workflows using AI tools and low-code platforms
• Help train internal teams on AI adoption and best practices for educational content creation

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in AI applications for education through projects, coursework or self-directed learning
• Basic familiarity with coding or low-code automation platforms
• Understanding of and ability to work with AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude or educational AI platforms
• Strong written communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to educators and content creators
• Interest in educational technology
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and take initiative on project
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail crucial for educational content accuracy
