Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) invites unemployed South African graduates, aged between 18 and 35 years, to apply for its two-year Young Professional-in-Training (YPiT) Programme. The programme aims to provide graduates with a balance of institutional knowledge and on-the-job experience across various functional areas, helping them build the foundation for a successful career. Participants will receive structured mentorship and training over a 24-month period, with performance assessments every six months to ensure alignment with personal and organisational goals. This opportunity is open to graduates from Department of Higher Education & Training (DHET)-registered institutions, including Universities, Universities of Technology, and TVET Colleges, who have completed an NQF Level 6 qualification or higher and have no prior work experience in their field of study

Responsibilities

• Participate in a two-year structured development programme that combines academic learning with workplace exposure
• Gain experience in customer service, marketing, tourism operations, and travel management functions within Transnet Freight Rail
• Assist with event coordination, stakeholder engagement, and promotional initiatives to enhance Transnet’s service visibility
• Contribute to business improvement projects aimed at developing customer-focused logistics and tourism-related solutions
• Receive mentorship, coaching, and regular performance evaluations to monitor growth and development
• Engage in cross-functional learning opportunities to develop professional versatility and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications:
• National Diploma / Degree in Tourism Management or related discipline, or
• Diploma in Travel & Tourism, or
• Diploma / Degree in Marketing
