Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) is offering an exciting two-year structured Young Professional-in-Training (YPT) programme for unemployed South African graduates. This programme aims to develop young professionals by combining institutional learning and on-the-job training, providing participants with the opportunity to gain practical experience, business insight, and professional growth within one of South Africa’s largest transport and logistics entities. The programme is designed to build foundational knowledge in business and operational functions within Transnet Freight Rail, improving candidates’ employability and preparing them for future leadership roles in the public or private sector

Responsibilities

Participate in a structured 24-month graduate development programme focusing on business operations, management practices, and organisational strategy
Assist in various business units such as finance, marketing, commercial operations, project management, and strategic planning
Support business improvement initiatives through data collection, research, and analysis to enhance decision-making
Contribute to market research, financial analysis, and reporting under supervision
Assist in the preparation of contracts, proposals, and presentations as part of the commercial or legal function
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and customer service delivery
Participate in project and performance reviews every six months to evaluate progress and learning outcomes
Ensure compliance with Transnet’s corporate governance, procurement policies, and ethical standards
Undertake assignments and research to support innovation and digital transformation within the organisation

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:
BCom in Commercial, Law, Marketing (Research), Economics, Finance, Strategic Management,
OR BCom with Information Systems or Information Technology
