Description

As a Junior Maintenance Technician Intern at Giesecke+Devrient, you will play an active role in supporting the maintenance team to ensure the technical operability, safety, and reliability of advanced production systems. This includes working on mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic systems within a high-security manufacturing environment focused on digital payment and IoT security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on production machines and tools
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults
• Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance schedules and safety inspections
• Document all maintenance and repair work according to company standards
• Maintain accurate spare parts inventory and ensure availability for production needs

Qualifications

• Electro-Mechanical qualification (or equivalent) with up to 1 year of relevant experience in maintenance or a similar technical environment
• Strong problem-solving and fault-diagnosis skills, with attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and capable of accurate technical documentation
• Good communication and teamwork abilities, with a proactive and safety-conscious mindset
• Eligible for the YES4Youth Programme: unemployed, aged 18–34, first-time participant, and meeting BBBEE criteria
