Ivanhoe Mines is seeking a Junior Geoscience Data Analyst to support geological data management across its exploration and mining sites, with a focus on the Chu Sarysu basin in Kazakhstan. Reporting to the Senior Database Geologist, the role involves maintaining and improving the acQuire GIM Suite data system, ensuring data quality, and supporting technical operations. The position offers exposure to global exploration projects, including copper exploration in the DRC, Angola, Zambia, and South Africa. The successful candidate will contribute to change management, technical support, and documentation processes, helping ensure reliable and accessible geological data for strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Provide full database support for sites without dedicated database personnel including imports, exports, and validations
• Support administration of acQuire workspaces to ensure data integrity and availability
• Administer the internal change management platform for change requests
• Communicate with requestors, apply approved changes, and assist in testing updates
• Provide continuous technical support on acQuire to geoscience teams
• Facilitate central license administration for acQuire access
• Document and update data management workflows and processes
• Manage access to documentation and update onboarding materials
• Maintain a central repository of data policies, configuration logs, and user guidance

Qualifications

• BSc Honours in Geology, GIS, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field
• 1–3 years of experience in an exploration or mining environment
• Exposure to database systems like acQuire, GIS platforms, and data reporting tools such as PowerBI or Tableau
• SACNASP registration preferred
• Good analytical skills with attention to data quality and process accuracy
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, efficient, and proactive
• Strong organization and time management abilities
• Cross-functional understanding of production geology and exploration
• Experience with database management using acQuire
• Basic knowledge of MSSQL
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
• Basic proficiency in MS Word
