This internship programme offers a unique opportunity for a qualified graduate to gain practical, hands-on experience in the field of transport management and planning. The successful candidate will be immersed in the core functions of the department, contributing to meaningful projects while developing essential skills for a career in the public sector or engineering consultancy

Responsibilities

• Transport Planning & Development: Gain skills in transport planning, development planning, and the implementation of transport policies and regulations
• Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA): Assist in the evaluation of Traffic Impact Studies, particularly for large-scale developments generating over 1500 vehicle trips, to understand their impact on the existing network
• Nodal Transport Plans: Contribute to the development and implementation of integrated transport plans for key nodes and corridors within the City
• Policy Implementation: Support the implementation and administration of the Security Access Restrictions Policy and other relevant by-laws
• Stakeholder Engagement: Assist with stakeholder consultation processes for various transport projects and programmes, ensuring community and industry input is captured effectively
• Strategy & System Performance: Help develop and manage strategies aimed at improving the overall performance and efficiency of the city's transportation system
• Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and presentations

Qualifications

• A Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, or Town and Regional Planning, or Transport Management
