The EY Minvest Graduate Programme is a 36-month fixed-term opportunity within the Strategy and Transactions (SaT) service line, designed for aspiring professionals in mining, geology, and related disciplines. Based in Johannesburg, this programme places graduates in EY’s specialised Minvest team, which advises clients on mining investments, mineral asset valuations, technical reviews, and strategic options across the minerals, oil, and gas sectors. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, scientists, and analysts to support transactions from strategic analysis through execution and integration. EY offers a globally connected, inclusive environment with coaching, training, and exposure to international reporting codes and mining value-chain dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Support mineral asset valuation through techno-economic assessments
• Assist in technical due diligence and reviews of mining investments
• Gain exposure to international public reporting codes such as SAMREC, NI43-101, JORC, and SK1300
• Collaborate across disciplines within mining environments and understand the full mining value-chain
• Support Competent Persons in mineral resource and reserve estimation
• Contribute to performance and business improvement initiatives in the mining industry

Qualifications

• Enrolled in final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Metallurgical Engineering, Geology, or Environmental
• Honours minimum
• Overall academic average of at least 65% and above
