Unifi is searching for an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join its high-performing, fast-growing team. In this role, you will design, build, automate, and maintain scalable data architectures and pipelines that support operational functions, analytics, and strategic decision-making across multiple African markets. You’ll collaborate closely with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver clean, reliable, and accessible data for reporting and insights. This role requires a self-starter who is comfortable in a dynamic and unstructured environment, brings strong problem-solving abilities, and is passionate about building data-driven products that create real impact across Africa

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures using GCP technologies (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage)
• Build, manage, and optimise ETL/ELT processes to integrate diverse internal and external data sources
• Work closely with data scientists and analysts to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions
• Provide technical support across the business to ensure reliable and timely data access
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve data pipeline issues to minimise downtime
• Continuously improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency across all pipelines and data platforms

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
