Sappi is offering a one-year Analytical Chemistry Internship at its Saiccor Mill in Umkomaas, KwaZulu Natal. This program is designed for recent graduates in Chemistry and provides practical, hands-on experience in laboratory and pilot plant operations. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, interns will gain exposure to experiments, data analysis, equipment operation, and reporting, ensuring a smooth transition into the professional environment while contributing to meaningful projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory and pilot plant experiments using Sappi's standard operating procedures
• Operate bench-top and pilot scale equipment
• Generate data and conduct basic analysis
• Report data from experiments and field testing in written reports and presentations
• Participate in maintenance and troubleshooting of pilot plant equipment

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric qualification
• Diploma (Requiring P1 and P2) or Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field
• No prior experience required
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams)
