Description

VCW will award 20 full-time bursaries for the 2026 academic year to deserving students pursuing qualifications relevant to the water and environmental sector. The programme is designed to support academic excellence, the transformation of technical professions, and the development of scarce and critical skills required in the water sector.

Responsibilities

  • This bursary funds one academic year at a time and is renewable based on academic progress
  • A minimum 2-year work-back obligation applies after completing your studies

Qualifications

  • Be South African citizens aged 18–25
  • Be in Grade 12 or have completed Matric (NSC/equivalent)
  • Plan to study full-time in 2026 at a recognised SA tertiary institution
  • Have strong academic results, especially in Maths & Physical Science
  • Demonstrate interest in the water sector
  • Be financially needy and not already receiving another bursary
  • Preferential consideration is given to:
  • Female applicants
  • Students with disabilities
  • Students from VCW’s fence-line communities in the Free State and Northern Cape
