The ELIDZ Bursary Programme 2026 is a targeted student funding opportunity offered by the East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ) to support academically strong South African students from the Eastern Cape. The bursary is aimed at learners planning to pursue undergraduate studies in Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, and related fields that contribute to industrial development and economic growth in the region. Applicants must demonstrate solid academic performance and have confirmed university acceptance for 2026.

Responsibilities

• To be eligible, applicants generally must:
• Be a South African citizen residing in the Eastern Cape
• Have passed matric with strong results (minimum average ~60%)
• Have obtained 60% or more in Pure Mathematics (Mathematical Literacy does not qualify)
• Plan to study a Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or related degree at a recognised South African university
• Already have confirmation of acceptance at a university for the 2026 academic year
