Discovery Central Services is seeking a Business Analyst (Intermediate) to work on their digital channel project. The company's core purpose is to make people healthier and enhance their lives, with a focus on innovation and positive change. The Digital Channels team works on dynamic projects and product enhancements within web and mobile platforms to improve business inefficiencies, gain competitive advantage, and provide better service to clients.
The key purpose of the role is understanding business requirements and translating them into functional specifications for developers to craft a technical solution. The role involves testing and validating the functionality of the technical solution against the business requirements, interacting with the business client and the development team, and ensuring that the business requirements are delivered in the implemented solution.
Areas of responsibility include assisting businesses in articulating the benefits they wish to realize with the solution, designing and validating the functional solution, identifying stakeholders, designing test cases/scripts, test scenarios, and test data sets, and validating the PRS and Test Basket with the client and identified stakeholders.
Personal attributes and skills include behavioral skills such as stress management, time management, creativity, learning orientation, negotiation skills, innovation, technical skills, project management, SQL queries, business writing, presentation and facilitation skills, solution architecture, process mapping, entity diagram mapping, software testing pack design, and functional testing.
Education and experience required include a minimum of 3 years of business analyst experience, 3 years of mobile app project delivery experience, and a Dip.BA (FTI or equivalent) with business experience and product knowledge. Methodologies used include Agile, Enterprise architect, Visio, SOAPUI (SOAP) / REST client, Atlassian tool suite, ITIL processes, SQL (Oracle and IBM Netezza), UML, XML, JSON, software architecture, JAD sessions, and data modelling techniques.
