The Department of Labour and Social Development (DAS) is seeking applications for Senior Management Services (SMS) positions. The salary for these positions is R255,450 per annum, with the center located at the Provincial Office Gauteng or Sebokeng Labour Centre. The job requirements include a Grade 12/Senior Certificate or equivalent, no experience required, knowledge of the National Archives Act, Batho Pele Principles, Records Management, Departmental Policies and Procedures, and skills in communication, listening, computer literacy, planning, and organizing. The duties of the position include maintaining the filling system, sorting and preparing documents for disposal processes, and performing administrative duties within the section. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications and related documents on or before the day of the interview following the communication from Human Resources. Foreign qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation report issued by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) only when shortlisted. The Department reserves the right not to make any appointments to the advertised posts. For SMS posts, candidates must successfully complete a SMS Pre-entry programme (Nyukela) as endorsed by the National School Government (NSG). The cost for Nyukela is at the applicants' own expense. The course is available at the NSG under the name Certificate for entry into SMS. Shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical competency exercise that tests relevant technical elements of the job. Following the interview and technical exercise, the selection panel will recommend candidates to attend generic managerial competencies using the mandated DPSA SMS competency assessment tools. The successful candidate will be expected to sign a performance agreement.
